Patients and visitors to St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake are likely to notice a lot of changes to the hospital, most recently the addition of private rooms.  Since the hospital was built most patients have been treated in double occupancy rooms, but this month’s addition of five new private rooms is changing all that.  Only four double occupancy inpatient rooms remain, meaning that most patients admitted to the hospital will now have a more personal and private experience with added space for family and visitors, and no roommate.

Building Community

Better healthcare builds better communities. Currently, St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake is a 25-bed, acute-care Critical Access Hospital serving Lake County with 24-hour emergency care. The renovation will add five state-of- the-art patient monitoring rooms, bringing the total number of private rooms to 12. There will be an important portal to precision care, two trauma rooms, a reconfigured emergency department with private ambulance entrance, welcoming entrance, larger waiting area, redesigned triage area and easier access to private beds from the emergency department.
 

Connecting with Leaders

Congressman Mike Thompson said it best at the “wall-breaking” last November when he declared, “This important project will help enhance the health and vitality of our community.” He also noted the renovation will add jobs and boost support for local business. Other community leaders in attendance included Clearlake Mayor Judy Thein and many police, fire and medical professionals. Also attending was Hospital President and CEO Terry Newmyer.
